Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) For Hair and Skin Health

What is all the buzz about the vampire proceedure?

I've heard it's a natural treatment - how long does it last?

One of the benefits of the Platelet Rich Plasma Facelift is that the procedure is performed quickly and long-lasting results can be achieved usually after 2 or 3 treatments. This treatment eliminates the risk of allergic reaction or rejection from your body because the plasma is derived from your own blood. The benefits of Platelet Rich Plasma therapy on your skin generally last for around nine to 18 months, depending on individual patients. Compared to most other medical facials, that require you to purchase packages and keep returning for numerous treatment sessions over months to see results, PRP is a huge time and money saver.

How many treatments do I need and how much will it cost?

The general recommendation is 3 treatments, usually two weeks but no more than one month apart. Currently each treatment is $650 but can vary depending on the area to be treated. Price reductions include package payment and promotions e.g. buy 2 get 3rd half price. Please contact us for a free consultation to assess your treatment cost.

Is PRP safe?

To create the PRP a small quantity of the patient’s blood is drawn. The whole blood is separated in a centrifuge to isolate layers of red blood cells and platelets. The end product of platelets is carefully drawn into a syringe for injection using an aseptic technique with disposable sterile needles. You will be advised on aftercare such as how to care for the skin and limiting strenuous exercise. Downtime is minimal and make up can be applied the morning after.

How does PRP make hair on the head regrow?

The procedure works by stimulating stem cells and tissure regeneration. In the case of hair loss, the injected platelets prompt inactive or newly implanted hair follicles to enter an active growth phase, causing the hair to start growing again. Clinical studies about the effectiveness of PRP and the longevity of results are inconclusive, mostly due to the fact that there is no standardized procedure and different practitioners use different injection formulas and strategies.

How does Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) work?

Platelets contain bioactive proteins that secrete protein growth factors that triggers healing of human body tissue. Injecting platelet rich plasma stimulates regeneration of collagen and elastin which results in improved skin texture, volume and elasticity.

How Does PRP Treatment Work?
Platelets contain proteins called growth factors, which are responsible for healing. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) contains a much higher concentration of platelets (and therefore, growth factors) than typically found in blood. A small amount of blood is drawn and centrifuged to obtain PRP, and then it's injected into the desired site.
The procedure is completely sterile. You'll experience little to no pain, and risks associated with the procedure are minimal.

PRP Treatment For Skin
PRP can help with reduction of dark circles, deep wrinkles, and even acne scarring. Platelets promote collagen and elastin regrowth, which results in smoother skin and improved elasticity.

PRP Treatment For Hair Loss
Platelets also stimulate stem cells and tissue regeneration. When injected into hair follicles, the growth factors in platelets will stimulate hair growth by causing the follicle to enter into an active growth phase. It's great for speeding up hair growth or combating thinning hair.
