How does PRP work?
Platelets contain bioactive proteins that secrete protein growth factors that triggers healing of human body tissue. Injecting platelet rich plasma stimulates regeneration of collagen and elastin which results in improved skin texture, volume and elasticity.
Is the PRP procedure safe?
To create the PRP a small quantity of the patient’s blood is drawn. The whole blood is separated in a centrifuge to isolate layers of red blood cells and platelets. The end product of platelets is carefully drawn into a syringe for injection using an aseptic technique with disposable sterile needles. You will be advised on aftercare such as how to care for the skin and limiting strenuous exercise. Downtime is minimal and make up can be applied the morning after.
How does PRP help stimulate hair growth?
The procedure works by stimulating stem cells and tissure regeneration. In the case of hair loss, the injected platelets prompt inactive or newly implanted hair follicles to enter an active growth phase, causing the hair to start growing again.
